6 Things I Bought This Week (Cool-Girl Approved)

A roundup of this week's finds. Trust me on all of them.

With weeks away from a post-grad trip to Italy and a New York City summer to follow, I walked into my closet and let out a huge sigh.

I have nothing to wear.

With my exit from Boston at the end of May, I've been collecting cash by selling nearly all of my clothes on Depop. And while it was such an elated feeling every time something sold, my closet has started to look frail. Its bones are showing. Now I'm on the hunt for the coolest outfits that will work so, so well in Cinque Terre and many more places to come.

With Jean

I bought the Sharni skirt and top set in crème for a summer euro jet-setting moment, and the minute I opened the package I was already on the With Jean website buying the Pia navy skirt. No hesitation.

  • A tad pricey, but you get 10% off when you sign up for their newsletter, and they also have a sample sale going on in New York City this weekend.

  • Their material is luxe, and what I love most is the way it lays on your hip bone. Sometimes midi skirts can be a little too tight or stiff near the waist, but this one moves with you and gives you real flexibility.

Free People

Only the intimates section for me. There is a pink lace skirt I saw on TikTok where a girl styled it so right that I was immediately hooked and bought it for myself. Now it is sold out in nearly every color. They have a blue and a white version I want to try, but I am seeing if it is in the budget.

  • Pair it with a cute strappy flip flop heel and you are good to go. A total Carrie Bradshaw moment.

  • The other skirts I looked at had some negative reviews saying the lace ones were not up to Free People's usual quality. I found that interesting and heeded the warning.

  • This one though is a steal at only $98. Not a terrible price for what it is.

Paloma Wool

My favorite, ever. Literally their tops are so buttery, my outfits are always so classically cool, and their pieces always turn heads. I have been to their pop-up shop in Paris and their store in New York, and both are a great in-person experience. Plus you do not have to worry about the DHL signature situation.

  • I bought this beautiful top because I essentially stole the idea from my best friend. I got it in a different color so as to not completely copy her every choice.

  • Cannot wait to style this with all of my jeans.

Still Here NYC

This purchase required me to sit with it for approximately nine days to confirm I was going to absolutely love them. I have been needing a staple white jean in my closet and I have already fallen in love with the Cool Jeans. I have two pairs already, dark wash denim and grey.

  • I was told to size up because they run a tad small, so I went with a 25 (I am usually a 24 to 25) and I am so glad I did.

  • These pair so well with black Aloha loafers and Carolyn Bessette-style sunglasses. The whole look, truly.

Rag & Bone

I had been looking at these for a while. I even passed them in Nordstrom Rack on Newbury once and was pleasantly surprised by how cute they were in person. I have been trying to find good quality flip flops under $100 that still felt expensive because I was not about to drop $148 on the Reformation sandals, even though they are oh so chic.

  • So imagine my surprise when I saw these were still in my size with only a few left in stock. I immediately purchased and was so excited to finally have sandals that felt perfectly relaxed without breaking the bank.

  • I trust Rag & Bone, and I love the silver detail on the band. It just gives it that extra oomph.

The Damage

It was not a cheap week. But nothing I bought felt like a splurge in the moment, which is either great taste or a very convincing story I told myself. Either way, the closet looks good again.

Italy, I think, is ready for it.
